Thinking of others in the middle of her own fight

Last year, Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care joined together to create Advocate Aurora Health, the 10th largest not-for-profit health system in the country. Your generosity will continue to make health care more accessible and compassionate for each person we serve. Here, we’re sharing stories about people, just like you, who are making a difference.

Diagnosed with breast cancer in March and still undergoing her own treatment journey, Kelly selflessly focused her energy on helping newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.

Recently, she and her family created a GoFundMe page to raise money to start “Baskets for Breasties.” The baskets include a hat, cup, toothbrush, puzzles, journal, mints, hand sanitizer and more. Kelly dropped off twenty baskets filled with the goodies to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital’s Caldwell Breast Cancer Center and hopes to continue her donation.

Thank you to Kelly, all her helpers and everyone who donated!

You can help too

Our cancer patients have access to more support programs, integrative therapies and clinical trials because of the generosity of donors. To make a gift in support of cancer programs at Advocate Aurora Health, click here.

Kelly, who is fighting breast cancer, recently donated 20 care baskets to help other cancer patients.
