Transporting patients and elevating care in our community

Last year, Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care joined together to create Advocate Aurora Health, the 10th largest not-for-profit health system in the country. Your generosity will continue to make health care more accessible and compassionate for each person we serve. Here, we’re sharing stories about people, just like you, who are making a difference.

There are few rivalries like the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers. But at this year’s Advocate Aurora Health Rally on the Rooftops, it was all about family, of sorts. That’s because Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service, Inc. was our Presenting Sponsor and they’re a big part of Advocate Aurora’s family of partnerships that enable us to provide the best care possible every single day.

Superior provides ground and air transport to a vast variety of patient needs ranging from critical care to bariatric care and transport. They have been transporting patients at what are now Advocate hospitals for over 35 years.

“We do feel like we’re an extension of the hospital,” explained Mary Franco, the company’s vice president. “Advocate Children’s transport team is located inside our corporate headquarters and they operate their dispatch center there. We also have personnel embedded in the Advocate command center in Downers Grove. We really are part of the same family.”

Mary said they were excited to see the beneficiary of this year’s Rally on the Rooftops expand to include Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital; Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and the Masonic Family Health Foundation; and Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

Superior has been a donor to Advocate Health Care programs and services since 1996, giving nearly $1.09 million. Their employees volunteer at many of our fundraising events and we are incredibly grateful to have them on our team.

“We’re grateful for our partnership. Advocate has given us the opportunity to do so many things we’ve always wanted to do, so it’s good to give back,” Mary shared.
