Your generosity helps kids like Kylan and their families

It was an unforgettable evening for eight patients and their families who, along with hundreds of other guests, attended Chicago Auto Show’s First Look for Charity on Friday, February 7.

“To see Kylan smile during the entire event made us so happy,” said Raina Blake, who enjoyed the evening with her husband, Nick, and their 10-year-old son, Kylan.

It’s been an eventful year for Kylan, who’s had three heart surgeries and procedures in the last six months alone.

“The fact that he had enough energy to walk the entire showroom floor without stopping to catch his breath was amazing. At the end of the night, Kylan told us that everything he has been through was so worth it because he feels so much better,” she shared. “We had so much fun and are so thankful we were able to bring him and experience his joy all night.”

We are so grateful to our supporters, sponsors, physicians and community members who raised more than $170,000 in support of Advocate Heart Institute and Advocate Children's Heart Institute. These gifts will advance cardiology research and services across Advocate Health Care, benefiting our patients by enabling us to meet their unique heart needs with unmatched expertise, advanced technologies and compassionate care to deliver the best health outcomes for kids like Kylan.

Kylan has had multiple heart surgeries in the last six months. He attended First Look for Charity with his family on February 7.
