Be a part of Denim Day!April 26, 2017
Denim Day is an international day of awareness for victims of sexual abuse. It began in honor of an 18-year-old girl in Italy who was forcibly raped by her driving instructor. The teen pressed charges, but the case was later dismissed because a supreme court judge declared the victim “was wearing tight jeans” and must have helped to remove them.
Each year, more than 2,500 survivors of sexual abuse start their healing journey in an Aurora Health Care facility. In fact, Aurora Health Care is the only health care system in Wisconsin dedicated to helping survivors of abuse from the point of crisis through life-long recovery.
