Why Aurora Health Care is Standing with Survivors

More than 2,000 people who experienced abuse and sexual assault were cared for at an Aurora Health Care facility in 2017. There are forensic nurses available at nine different Aurora Medical Centers to treat women, men and children coping with recent trauma. But Aurora Health Care knows that immediate care isn’t the end of their healing journey, it is often only the beginning. In fact, Aurora Health Care is the only health care system in Wisconsin dedicated to helping survivors of abuse from the point of crisis through lifelong recovery.

Standing with Survivors is Aurora Health Care Foundation’s monthlong fundraising and awareness campaign during the month of April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Your support to Standing with Survivors benefits Aurora’s Abuse Response Programs all over eastern Wisconsin, including Aurora Healing & Advocacy Services in Milwaukee.
