But you can still support survivors of sexual and domestic abuse
The concerns around COVID-19 continue and organizations across the globe are taking proactive measures out of an abundance of caution. As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to our patients, communities and team members to help stop the spread of the virus. Based on the recommendations from state and national governments, Aurora Health Care is canceling or postponing all gatherings through May 31st. Because of this, we will be canceling the Hope Shining Blue event scheduled for April 29.
Unfortunately, it’s likely that the need for services to help survivors will increase during this uncertain time, as people are confined to their homes and the isolation combined with financial, emotional, and other stressors brought on by this pandemic take their toll on our communities.
Supporting abuse response remains a top priority for Aurora Health Care. In lieu of the fashion show, we will host an online campaign culminating on Denim Day, April 29, to honor survivors of sexual and domestic violence and raise funds to enhance their care. We hope you will consider making your ticket or sponsorship purchase into a full donation and make an even bigger impact on those we are privileged to serve. Your gift will help save lives during this difficult time.
Please contact Sarah Katsandonis at Sarah.Katsandonis@aurora.org to let us know if you would like to make your ticket purchase into fully tax-deductible donation or receive a refund. Please look for additional information from us in April about how you can continue to support survivors.
