William Passavant Society

It all began with a leap of faith. Aurora Sinai Medical Center as it is today, dates back to 1863, with the founding of Milwaukee Hospital by William Passavant. A minister originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Passavant was dedicated to creating a hospital for the people of Milwaukee, including the city's sick and impoverished.

The seed that he planted became Milwaukee Hospital (also Milwaukee Lutheran), establishing a legacy of health care in our city. Soon, this legacy grew to include neighboring hospitals -- Mount Sinai Hospital (est. 1903) and Evangelical Deaconess Hospital (est. 1910). Throughout the century, the roots of these hospitals grew stronger, and eventually the branches they spawned were woven together, creating what is now downtown Milwaukee's Aurora Sinai Medical Center.

When you decide to give at leadership levels, you, too, are demonstrating William Passavant's faith, vision and legacy by allowing us to continue serving the community as we find better ways to meet the needs of our patients and families.

Becoming a member of Aurora Sinai's William Passavant Society requires cumulative giving at one of the following levels:
